My day n' Stuff.
you know, i'd quite like to do a list of links. if i could ever work out how do that. This is clearly going to be a means of procrastination, i'm supposed to be ploughing through my shitloads of reading or at least filling in one of my application forms. Oh no, i'm arsing around with something that i don't need and that i barely know how to work.
Er, right. So. Today. I went to uni after watching a crappy daytime TV show called "beat the burgler" where they get someone to break into your house to show you what kind of things you can do. It was so scary that i went round the house checking the windows and doors. I nearly died when i realised that the back door was unlocked, and probably has been for about four days, which is the last time anyone in my house paid a visit to the bins. Memo to self: must not watch scary TV shows first thing in the morning. Right, and went to the library next. which was gripping as usual, i was just reading about private security. For hours. Had lunch. Followed by a lecture on International Political Theory. I'm such a geek cos i enjoy this. Today's one was all about post positivism - really much more interesting than it sounds. Lecturer did lots of cool powerpoint (he's clearly been on an advanced powerpoint course). Then i spent ages out on the concorse (it's the big open space outside the Union under a massive bridge) with a few course friends moaning about the weather (it's depressing, very depressing.... it's SO DARK AND COLD) and stuff, then we all reaslised that we were all going to the library anyway. So we carried on talking in the library. Then i went to a Welfare committee meeting. Which was very cool. We're going to put a giant red ribbon round the university arts tower (it's like, only the biggest building in Sheffield) for World Aids Day, and we got very excited about doing a santa's grotto for the university nursery, it's going to be all sparkly and stuff and there's of course, the upcoming Stuff't Olives! I'm trying to come up with something abso-blimmin-lootly amazing for "Challenging Stigma" (stigma about disabled people that is) which is next semester (ok, so ages off) and i can't seem to get off the idea of doing a shock campaign combined with getting as manay societies thinking about the issues - like getting the film unit to do films about disabled people, like getting the debate society doing a debate etc etc etc. Might be the best way to do it. Walked alllllllll the way up my great big hill home and popped over to the girls' house for a bit and cooked my tea. Watched Eastenders and thought about how much work i have to do, but no, instead i've been arsing around. My room is *very* tidy.
and oh my god how did it get so late? It's 20 past 12!!!! I'm way to old to stay up! (yeah, walking sticks at the ready!)

In the interests of procrastination I thought I'd keep this conversation going. I'm currently taking up someone's valuable time by hogging a computer in the library in order to post messages to my housemate whom I will no doubt run into at some point during the day. Or perhaps not, you never know, but even if I don't the message is still pointless given I have nothing of any value to say. I will set your mind at rest however by pointing out that I filled the blue bin on Saturday and I'm 100% positive I locked the door afterwards so it can't have been unlocked for very long. The burglar probably just forgot to lock it again on his way out. I do normally check the back door before I go to bed though and on the occasions I don't, I make a habit of calling all the burglars in the area and asking them nicely not to rob us that day so no need to worry... I should go to my lecture. Bye bye.
